VLADIMIR FOMIN'S VISIT TO ATHENS

From 26 February to 1 March 2018, V. Fomin, ICAS secretary-general, was on a working visit to Athens. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss with the Greek side the upcoming swimming competitions among amateur athletes in June this year in the territory of Greece. To this end, a press conference was held with the participation of representatives of several Greek ministries, heads of municipal authorities of Greek cities and presidents of sports federations.

In addition, it had been planned that in order to solve a few organizational issues of the ICAS, a meeting of some ICAS representatives (Italy, Cyprus, Lithuania and Russia) would be held. Thus, on February 28, the said meeting took place, and on its agenda the following issues appeared: indentifying the ICAS legal address, election of new members, discussion of the ICAS regulations, approval of an organization performing the functions of the ICAS secretariat, etc.

In particular, the representatives of Latvia (Janis Plotnieks), Greece (Nikos Papadakos), Kyrgyzstan (Ahmed Anarbayev), Kazakhstan (Aleksandr Romanov), France (Duncan McCreadie) and the USA (Tim Shead) were accepted as new members of the International Council. It was decided to continue the work on identifying the legal address of ICAS and defining an organization that would perform the functions of the ICAS secretariat.

Finally, the plan of the main events for 2018 was approved.
